This privacy policy describes how TweetScan ("the Extension"), a Chrome extension and web tool developed by TweetBoost ("we", "us", "our"), handles user data.

What Data We Collect

Chrome Extension

The TweetScan Chrome extension:

• Reads publicly visible data from X/Twitter profile pages you visit, including: display name, username, follower/following counts, bio, join date, verified status, and engagement metrics on visible tweets (likes, retweets, replies, views).
• Stores analysis results locally in your browser using Chrome's storage API. This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly use the "Full Analysis" feature, which sends the username to our server for additional processing.
• Does NOT collect passwords, browsing history, personal messages, email addresses, or any private account data.
• Does NOT track your browsing activity across websites. The extension only activates on x.com and twitter.com profile pages.
• Does NOT use cookies, analytics trackers, or fingerprinting.

Web Application (tweetboost.ai/scan)

When you use the TweetScan web tool:

• Account information: If you create an account, we collect your email address and name for authentication purposes.
• Scan data: When you scan a profile, we query the X/Twitter API for publicly available data about that profile and store the analysis results to provide you with scan history and tracking features.
• Usage data: We track scan and audit counts per day to enforce rate limits.

How We Use Data

• To provide profile analytics and follower audit results to you.
• To display your scan history and tracked profile trends in your dashboard.
• To enforce free tier usage limits.
• To improve the accuracy and functionality of our analysis algorithms.

Data Sharing

We do NOT:

• Sell, rent, or trade any user data to third parties.
• Share personal information with advertisers.
• Transfer data to third parties for purposes unrelated to the extension's core functionality.
• Use data for advertising or marketing purposes beyond our own service.

We may share anonymized, aggregated statistics (e.g., "average engagement rate across all scans") but never individual user data.

Data Storage & Security

• Extension data is stored locally in your browser using Chrome's storage API. You can clear this data at any time by removing the extension.
• Server data (for registered users) is stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted on secure infrastructure with encryption at rest and in transit.
• We retain scan data for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion at any time.

Chrome Web Store Limited Use Disclosure

TweetScan's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Specifically:

• We only use data to provide and improve the extension's core functionality (profile analytics and follower auditing).
• We do not transfer data to third parties except as necessary to provide the service.
• We do not use data for advertising or creditworthiness purposes.
• We do not allow humans to read user data except with explicit consent, for security purposes, or to comply with law.

Your Rights

You can:

• Uninstall the extension at any time to stop all data collection.
• Request deletion of your account and all associated data by emailing us.
• Access, correct, or export your data by contacting us.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
