Twitter (X) Shadowban Test
Impressions fell off a cliff and nobody replies anymore? Find out in one minute whether X is quietly hiding your posts - from search, from suggestions, or from conversations.
Public accounts only. No password, no login, nothing posted on your behalf.
Checks run against live X search data - not a cached database. Method last verified August 25, 2026.
The Four X Restrictions, and How Each Is Tested
"Shadowban" is really four different restrictions. Two can be verified automatically; two can only be confirmed from a logged-out browser - any tool claiming to fully automate all four is guessing. Here is exactly what this checker does for each:
Search ban
AutomatedYour posts stop appearing in X search results entirely, even under the Latest tab. The heaviest common restriction. We test it live: your recent posts vs what X search actually returns for from:yourhandle.
Search suggestion ban
Automated + manual confirmYour profile stops appearing in the search dropdown when people type your handle. The most common restriction in 2026 - and the one most people never notice. We check people-search, and give you the 30-second typeahead confirm.
Reply deboosting
Guided manualYour replies get collapsed behind "Show more replies" for everyone else. X calls this visibility filtering. No tool can see a logged-out conversation server-side, so we link you straight to your newest reply with exact instructions.
Ghost ban
Guided manualThe severest form: your replies disappear from conversations entirely - the thread shows a reply count that includes yours, but your reply is nowhere. Same guided check, different symptom.
Built to stay current. X changes visibility filtering quietly and often - old checkers died with the 2023 API lockdown and many never noticed. Every check here runs live per test, and we re-validate the method against current X behavior and stamp the date above. If X changes the rules, the tool changes with them.
Shadowbanned? Do This, in This Order
Stop the trigger
Pause automation, scheduled reply blasts, follow/unfollow tools, and repeated link posting. Nothing recovers while the trigger continues.
Check your account quality, not just your content
A bot-heavy follower base drags account trust down. Run the free account audit and the fake follower checker - if a third of your audience is bots from an old cheap-follower purchase, that is part of the problem.
Post normally and wait it out
Most restrictions clear in 2-7 days of clean, human behavior. Re-run this test every day or two rather than refreshing your analytics in despair.
Rebuild reach on real signals
Once clear, reach recovers fastest through genuine engagement from real accounts - replies and conversations, not tricks. That is the part we can help with.

Shadowban Questions, Answered
How do I check if I am shadowbanned on X (Twitter)?
Run the free test above: enter your handle and the checker compares your recent posts against what X search actually returns for from:yourhandle, plus whether your profile appears in people search. For reply deboosting, open your newest reply from a logged-out browser - if it is collapsed behind "Show more replies" or missing, your replies are being filtered. The whole check takes under a minute.
How long does an X shadowban last in 2026?
Most soft restrictions lift on their own in 2 to 7 days once the behavior that triggered them stops. Search suggestion bans often clear fastest. Heavier filtering after repeated triggers or mass reports can run several weeks. If nothing changes after 30 days of clean posting, the problem is usually account-level trust, not a temporary flag.
What triggers a shadowban on X?
The usual 2026 triggers: aggressive follow/unfollow patterns, posting identical text or links repeatedly, bursts of activity from a new account, too many replies too fast (classic reply-guy automation pattern), engagement pods, being mass-reported, and links to domains X distrusts. Bot-looking follower spikes from cheap follower services can also drag account trust down - which is an account-quality problem, not just a content one.
Is a shadowban the same as being suspended?
No. A suspension is explicit - you get told, and the account is locked or removed. A shadowban is silent: everything looks normal from your side while your reach quietly collapses. X describes it as visibility filtering ("freedom of speech, not reach"). That silence is exactly why you have to test from the outside, logged out.
Does deleting the offending posts fix a shadowban?
Sometimes it shortens the clock, and it never hurts to remove the spam-pattern behavior (duplicate posts, link bursts). But mostly recovery is time plus clean behavior: post normally, engage genuinely, stop any automation, and re-test every day or two. Panic-deleting your whole timeline looks like bot behavior in itself.
Why did old shadowban checkers stop working?
The classic checkers of the shadowban.eu era died when X locked down its free APIs in 2023 and kept tightening access. Tools that still "work" either query search infrastructure through paid data providers - which is what this checker does, live per test - or they quietly stopped being accurate. That is also why we stamp the method with a verification date and re-validate it against current X behavior.
Clean Bill of Health, but Reach Still Flat?
Then it is not a shadowban - it is distribution. Real followers who actually engage are what the algorithm rewards. That is exactly what TweetBoost delivers, audited on Day 0 and Day 30.
